My Philosophy.
Welcome to my website. The picture is of me, superimposed over a photo I took of Lindow Common (Llyn du which is Welsh for Black Lake) in Cheshire, which is near to where Iive. This is an area of special scientific interest because of it's unique heathlands, wet mires and the Black Lake and as such, it is managed and preserved. It is an oasis of calm in an otherwise busy town, located near to motorways and an International Airport. It's like a jewel, and local people constantly fight to prevent it being built upon.
When I'm walking on the Common, I think about how much of our own health can be compromised by the busy lives that we lead as well as the social, emotional, physical health impacts that certain situations and circumstances can have upon it. We benefit when we become self-aware enough to take the time to manage and preserve our own selves; our bodies, our minds and our own environments.
I've worked in health care and mental wellbeing in one way or another since the age of 17 years. I've worked supporting adults and children with a vast range of difficulties and in 2009 I became self-employed to fulfil this vocation.
Below you will find my professional qualifications and on the other pages of my website there is more information about how and why I became invested in certain aspects of health and social care.
